Animals, animals, animals!

During this summer term, Foundation stage visited the Butterfly Farm at North Anston.

Class 8 have done lots of learning about this and the animals we saw there.
We showed most of this learning in our assembly. When you come into our classroom you will see paintings, writing, number work, ICT, patterns and creative work all around our trip.

Lots of children loved seeing the different animals at the Butterfly Farm they especially liked the part when Rebecca (One of the park keepers) introduced us to Patch the rabbit, Bubbles the Owl and Mowgli the snake! The children were able to touch and hold these animals. They also found out some interesting facts about each one.
Did you know that a rabbit is a mammal, you can tell because it has fur.
Did you know that a snake is a reptile, you can tell this because it has scales all over it’s body!

When we walked around the Butterfly Farm we saw meerkats, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, a skunk, rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and owls!

When we walked around the tropical garden we saw many interesting animals that we do not see in England as it is too cold for them to survive! We saw large colourful butterflies, parrots, snakes, spiders, frogs, scorpions, ants, hero rats, stick insects, bats, crocodile and turtles! We really enjoyed our very wet and rainy but exciting day!

Keep checking the site for updates of Class 8’s exciting adventures!
